We present you several pictures from the donation event, organized in Hotel "Jadranska straza" in Bijela. The event was very succesfull, and gained a lot of media attention.

Bijela, August, 19, 2007

We are pleased to inform you that the orphanage ”Mladost” in Bijela, in cooperation with Mr. Goran Milic and the new Montenegro Foundation, has begun a project to benefit the children living in Mladost.

Mr. Milic, a respected member of the Montenegrin community in the United States and a prominent restaurant-owner in Los Angeles, has initiated a project that is training a number of high school students from the Bijela orphanage to work in the restaurant and tourism fields. As a first step, from August 6–23, Mr. Milic and several chefs from Italy are training the first group of students.

We now have the pleasure to invite you to join us and these chefs for a Donor’s Evening on 23 rd August, at 7 pm, at the Hotel “Jadranska Straža” in Bijela, where the young people who passed the training course in gastronomy will be preparing and serving dinner.

The Master of Ceremonies at the event will be Mr. Tiho Vujovic, a well-known Montenegrin painter.

All money collected will go to the Montenegro Foundation in support of this project. The Foundation (www.MontenegroFoundation.org) is a U.S. inspired NGO in California and now in Montenegro that will work to educate and train Montenegrins so that they may meaningfully participate in the tourism economy, protect and enhance Montenegro’s natural and cultural assets that are attracting foreign investment and tourists, and develop and sustain the country’s civil society institutions. The first project of the Foundation is the program to train the talented orphans you will meet.

The next step phase of this project is to send the student chefs to Italy and the U.S., for further training. By completeing this culinary training, they will become professional-level chef s who will, upon their return have a chance to find a good job in Montenegro and pass on their knowledge and experiences to other people. Top restaurants in Montrenegro have already offered to employ these graduates. The Foundation hopes to expand this program next year to other areas of the country.

We sincerely hope that you will come and contribute to the education of these hard working young people from Bijela.

The number of places is limited to 35. Therefore we kindly ask you to confirm your participation as soon as possible, at Info@MontenegoFoundation.org or if you need further information, please call Mr. Goran Milic at 069 515 745. The suggested donation is 100 euros per person.

We look forward to seeing you at the Hotel “Jadranska Straža” in Bijela, a boutique Hotel that supports the orphanage next door.

Sincerely yours,

Boro Djukanovic, Director of Bijela Orphanage, and

Goran Milic from the Montenegro Foundation
